Back
Cast on 54 (65, 81) stitches. Work in Stockinette stitch until piece measures 7" (7 ½", 8 ½"). To shape armholes, BO 3 (5,7) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Decrease 1 stitch at each end for the next 4 (4, 6) rows. Continue working even until piece measures 15" (16", 17 ½"). Bind off loosely.
Left Front
Cast on 12 (14, 16) stitches.
Knit 1 row (RS). Next row Cast on 2 stitches, Purl to the end. Repeat the last 2 rows 6 more times. Now increase 1 stitch at end (center front edge) of every K row 4 times. Work even until side (straight) edge measures 7" (7 ½", 8 ½"), end P row. To shape the armhole, Bind off 4 stitches at beg and decrease 1 stitch at end of next row. Work 1 row even. Dec 1 stitch at armhole edge on next 4 K rows. Continue working even. When armhole measures 5" (5 ½", 6 1/2"), decrease at center edge on all K rows until piece measures 15" (16", 17 ½"). Bind off loosely.
Right Front
Cast on 12 (14, 16) stitches.
Knit 1 row (RS). Next row Purl. Next row Cast on 2 stitches, K to end. Repeat the
last 2 rows 6 more times. Now inc 1 stitch at the beginning of every K row 4 times. Work
even until side edge (straight) measures 7" (7 ½", 8 ½"), end P row. . To shape the armhole, Decrease 1 stitch at beginning of next row. Bind off 4 stitches at beg of next row. Dec 1 stitch at armhole edge on next 4 rows. Continue working even. When armhole measures 5" (5 ½", 6 1/2"), decrease at center edge on all K rows until piece measures 15" (16", 17 ½"). Bind off loosely.
Sleeves (make 2):
Cast On 30 (32, 34) stitches. Knit 4 rows. Continue working in Stockinette stitch and at the same time increase 1 stitch at each edge every 8th row, 7 times. Continue until piece measures 19"(20", 22"). Next Bind off 4 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Bind off 3 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Bind off 1 stitch at the beginning of the next 18 (18, 20) rows. Bind off remaining stitches loosely.
Finishing
Sew shoulder seams. Sew sleeves on. Sew side and sleeve seems. Block so all edges lie flat.
