Stitch of the Week: Granite Stitch

June 22nd, 2017

Hey knitters,

Here is an interesting stitch pattern called the granite stitch. This pattern stitch is easy to knit and has a rope like design to it. The knitted technique creates a thick texture pattern stitch that work well with blankets, sweaters, vests or even scarves. You can find the tutorial of the granite stitch on the website Studio knits at:

Give it a try I think you will love it.

Cast on multiples of 2 stitches. Work a 4 x4 stitch gauge before knitting a project.

  • Row 1: Knit all stitches
  • Row 2: *K2tog; rep from * to end
  • Row 3: *(K1, p1) into same stitch; rep from * to end
  • Row 4: Purl all stitches

Repeat rows 1 – 4 until you have reached your desired length.
