Stitch of the Week: Raindrops Stitch

 Hey Knitters,

The Raindrop Pattern takes a little skill to knit.  So if you are an intermediate knitter, then give is stitch pattern a try. If you’re not, you can still try it. The raindrop stitch is a reverse stockinette stitch that really makes the raindrops pattern individually stand out.

This is a 6 Stitch pattern repeat.

Abbreviation:

Yarn Round Needle (yrn)

Purl two together (p2tog)

 

 

 

 

Cast on multiple of 6 stitches plus 5 extra stitches. Work 4 x 4 swatch gauge to practice.

Pattern Instructions

1st row (right side): P5, *yrn, p2tog, p 4; rep from * to end of row.

2nd row: K5, *p1, k5; rep from * to end of row
3rd row: P5, *k1, p5; rep from * to end of row.
Rep the last 2 rows once more, repeat the 2nd row again.
7th row: P2, yrn, p2tog, *p4, yrn, p2tog; rep from * to last stitch, p1.
8th row: K2, p1, *k5, p1; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.
9th row: P2, k1, *p5, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2.
Rep the last 2 rows once more, repeat the 8th row again.
Repeat rows 1 through 12 for pattern.
