Cast On 84 (110) stitches on the Circular Knitting Needle. Turn work, do not work in the round. Make the bottom: Row 1 - 4: Knit row. Row 5: Knit. Row 6: Purl. Repeat Rows 5-6 until piece measures 8" (10") or desired length from armhole to bottom. Shape the top: Row 1: Cast off 20 (26) st, Knit to the end. Row 2: Cast off 20 (26) st, Purl to the end. Row 3: K2, K2tog, K to last 4 stitches, K2 tog, K2. Row 4: Purl. Row 5: Knit. Row 6: Purl. Repeat rows 3-6 until 15" (17") Repeat rows 5-6 4 times. Bind off loosely. Using the Double Pointed Knitting Needles, knit a 20 inch long, 2 stitch I cord. Seam the back of the halter top. Fold over the upper edge and sew in place to form casing. Thread the I cord through the casing. |
