Purse Body
Thread beads on to 1 of 2 balls of yarn. Cast on 42 stitches working with 2 strands of yarn held together. (Purse will be worked with doubled yarn throughout) Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist stitches. Place marker on needle to indicate beginning of round. Round 1: K1, P1, repeat around Round 2: P1, K1, repeat around Round 3: K1, P1, repeat around Round 4: P1, K1, repeat around Round 5: K1, P1, repeat around Round 6: P1, K1, repeat around Round 7: K1, P1, repeat around Round 8: P1, K1, repeat around Round 9: K1, P1, repeat around Round 10: P1, K1, repeat around Round 11: K1, P1, repeat around Round 12: P1, K1, repeat around Round 13: K1, P1, repeat around Round 14: P1, K1, repeat around placing 21 beads into each of the K stitches. Round 15: K1, P1, repeat around Round 16: P1, K1, repeat around Round 17: K1, P1, repeat around Round 18: P1, K1, repeat around Round 19: K1, P1, repeat around Round 20: P1, K1, repeat around Round 21: K1, P1, repeat around placing 21 beads into each of the K stitches. Round 22: P1, K1, repeat around Round 23: K1, P1, repeat around Round 24: P1, K1, repeat around Round 25: K1, P1, repeat around Round 26: P1, K1, repeat around Round 27: P1, K1, repeat around Round 28: K1, P1, repeat around Round 29: P1, K1, repeat around Round 30: K1, P1, repeat around Round 31: P1, K1, repeat around Bind off. Bottom of bag Cast on 19 stitches with yarn doubled. Turn (do not work in the round). Row 1: K row. Repeat row 1 6 times. Bind off. Finishing Using the size J crochet hook, work 1 row of single crochet to connect the bottom to the body of the purse. Felt the purse using your preferred method. (Purse pictured is lightly felted to retain look of stitches.) Before letting the purse dry, pull out the beads from the matted fabric to the right side of the purse. Once dry, attach the handles. |
