2 Skeins in 153 Black, 2 Skeins in 098 Ivory, 2 Skeins in 113 Tomato Red – Lion Brand Kool Wool (50% Merino Wool, 50% Acrylic; 1.75 oz / 60 yds)

Gauge – Not critical to pattern

Directions

With black yarn, cast on 20 stitches. Turn work and Knit across. Now begin pattern stitch.

Row 1: (K1, P4) across.

Row 2: (K3, P2) across.

Row 3: (K3, P2) across.

Row 4: (K1, P4) across.

Row 5: Knit across.

Row 6: Knit across.

Repeat Rows (1 -6) 4 times.

Row 31: (K1, P4) across.

Row 32: (K3, P2) across.

Row 33: (K3, P2) across.

Row 34: (K1, P4) across.

Change to red/white/black yarn.

Row 35: Loop stitch across.

Row 36: Loop stitch across.

Repeat Rows (1-36) 9 times. Bind off loosely.

Loop Stitch Description: Knit one stitch, keep it on the right-hand needle, but do not slip the stitch off the left-hand needle; pass the yarn to the front (as for purl) and wrap around your thumb to create the loop, then pass the yarn back between the needles; knit into the same stitch and slip off; pass the first stitch over the second.
