Supplies

1 Skeins in 6250 Crayon – Moda Dea Sassy Stripes (100% Acrylic; 1.76 oz., 152 yards)

Knitting Needle – Size US 6

Details

Gauge – 18 sts = 4″

Directions

Cast On 80 stitches. Work in Stockinette Stitch for 6 rows. Work 8 rows in 3 by 3 ribbing. Continue in Stockinette Stitch until hat measures approximately 6 1/2″ ending with a P row. To shape the top of the hat:

Row 1: * K6, K2tog, repeat from * across.

Row 2: P row.

Row 3: * K5, K2tog, repeat from * across.

Row 4: P row.

Row 5: * K4, K2tog, repeat from * across.

Row 6: P row.

Row 7: * K3, K2tog, repeat from * across.

Row 8: P row.

Row 9: K row.

Row 10: P row.

Row 11: * K2, K2tog, repeat from * across.

Row 12: P row.

Row 13: * K1, K2tog, repeat from * across.

Row 14: P row.

Row 15: * K2, K2tog, repeat from * across.

Cut yarn leaving an 12″ tail. With the yarn needle, thread the tail through the remaining loops on the needle and pull tightly until the hat top is closed. Use the leftover yarn tail to sew the seam.
